MOVIE RANT WITH KATEHOMEDIY

Image
Hello fellow readers!
So Kate (my best friend) is staying at my house for couple of days. What I thought I would do is talk about
movies with her, because she watches a lot of films like I do! So let's get right into a conversation.
Of course I forgot to tell you to check out Kate's blog, because it's amazing. It contains a lot of DIY posts, really useful!

Mary: Hello Kate, it's going to be like an interview today. Welcome to my blog! Let's talk about our favourite movies.

Kate: Shall we?

M: Ok, so have you ever seen Alien?

K: No, I have not. The reason is I don't like science-fiction, it's just too complicated for me.

M: If I remember correctly, you don't like horror movies, and well that's a horror. So.. maybe that's the second reason. Though it's not that scary, it's not like a typical horror story. There is always a man that kills everybody with an axe, but there is an alien kiling everybody in Alien, haha. At least that's what I thi…

INSTAGRAM JOURNAL #1 | JULY

Image
Good afternoon,
so well in 2 days it is the end of July. And I'm like: ' When has it passed so quickly?'. Literally I remember the holidays starting at the begining of July and now it's the end. Amazing. I mean not so amazing after all.
But luckily I have a month left of the vacations. Whole August. I'm super exicted, because on 15th, I'm heading to Italy for two weeks, just to relax even more, see some nice places. So until school, I have some things planned, not going to be bored for sure.
Anyway before the end of July a quick Instagram journal. I know I have done something similar about a week ago, but I didn't realize that I posted it almost at the end of the month. Silly me, haha :) And a quick one, because I didn't upload a lot of photos this month. If I have , then some of them you have already seen.
The begining of summer/holidays. And also super stocked by my new sunglasses, haha.
During my stay at my grandpa's house, I have been skating a…

SUMMER SONGS 2014

Image
Hello,
I feel like I haven't done a lot of music posts. So today I'm going to show you my favourite tracks through the summer.

1) 'Runaway' by Ed Sheeran Like I said in my blog post about Ed's album X, I love this album. My favourite track is changing every time, or it's safe to say that every song is my favourite :) But this one is definitely one that I adore the most! It has a nice beat and of course meaningful lyrics, which is amazing, because not all songs have it.

2) 'Back Together' by Jesse McCartney So Jesse McCartney is back. I don't know, if that's a good thing, because I'm obsessed with his music right now. Maybe I should make a blog post about his new album. But back to the song.
Song really is really upbeat, meaning it's not like a sad one, because it's not good to listen sad songs in the summer.

3) 'She Came To Give it to You' by Usher feat. Nicki Minaj I saw this song in a Spotify Playlist for like a new songs…

ULTIMATE FLOWER POWER

Image
Good afternoon everybody,
today I have been at my grandma's kinda house. She has all the flowers, herbs and vegetables there, which is awesome. I have a lot photos from today, but mainly they are selfies with my cousins, so I don't feel like sharing them. Sorry, haha :)
So a little flower power for you below- sunflower, apple tree, and some other beautiful flowers. Hope you enjoy!
And I will speak to you soon,
Mary

INSTAGRAM JOURNAL #0.5

Image
Hello,

Instagram is a well-known site, where you can upload you're selfies or just any photos you like. Of course I have an account on this site. Why wouldn't I? I feel like people's account on Instagram (including mine) is like a small journal, where they can capture their life and share it with others.

I have an Instagram account since January 2013. I remember that I couldn't have had it on my phone, so instead I installed it on my brother's tablet. Good times!
Since 2013 I have almost 120 photos uploaded. It's not a lot some people would say, because it's really common, that many upload about 2-4 photos a day. But for me it's a lot.
Usually I upload pictures that really matter to me, the ones I really like.

So here are some old and new photos uploaded on Instagram! (My little journal)

Yep, I checked, those were 122 photos from my Instagram account. Hopefully I will upload many more in the future on my Instagram  (follow me, haha :))! If you hava an i…

ACROSS THE UNIVERSE | BETH REVIS

Image
Good afternoon,

so I'm soo excited, because I have finally read a book during holidays. My first book this summer!

I don't know, but I have a bit of problem, because when it's school, I simply don't have time to read anything. And sometimes it's just killing me (not literally of course), because I'm a huge fan of reading books.

But I get more motived, when I don't read for a really long time. Also I love riding while on the train, and as I am travelling by it a lot this summer, I have a lot more time to read.

Ohh, the book. Right... So an amazing book by Beth Revis. 'Across the Universe'. I'm in love with it.

It tells a story of a girl, who joins as frozen cargo with her parents spaceship Godspeed. She was supossed to woke up on the new planet in three hundred years in the future, but something mysterious stops her sleep fifty years earlier. So now she has to unlock the spaceship's hidden secrets. And I guarantee there are a lot of them :)

SUMMER DRINKS | RECIPE

Image
Aloha,
a really summery greeting for you there. I really enjoy this summer. Does anyone have like me, because when it's too cold, I wish it was summer, but when it's summer and really hot it just makes me wanna have winter back? Confusing, but true!

But anyway I love summer, when I don't have to do a lot. Just sit in my favourite chair, read books and drink my favourite drinks. So while drinking one of them, I thought that instead of keeping the recipes to myself, I would share them with you my dearest readers!

So here we goooo.

1) Rasberry paradise.

The ingredients: water, rasberry syrup, ice and rasberries to decorate (optional)

How we make it: I think it's the easiest one. We just add the syrup in to the glass. Then add water. Mix it with
a spoon. And well, that's it. You can of course decorate it with some rasberries and to make it even colder add ice.

2) Tropical fizz.

The ingredients: apple juice, tropical juice, soda or normal water, kiwi, strawberries and pinea…

BACK IN SOMEONE'S HOMETOWN

Image
Good afternoon everybody,

today I'm writing after very tiring day. We- meaning Kate and I- went to her hometown, just to kinda relax and visit. But it was veery hot today, I was melting a little :) Besides the hotness, I must say it was a well spent day.

So just to see some photos of this rather small and peaceful town, slide down. Enjoy!

For more photos from this trip, go and check out Kate's blog.
Speak to you soon,
Mary

P.S. What are your plans for holidays? Going somewhere exciting, tell me!

FAVOURITE BOOKS OF ALL TIMES

Image
Hi there,

probably all of you (or most of you) have read a lot of books in your lives. I am one of those people. Maybe I haven't read that many, but many enough to have my favourites.
So today I'm going to show you may all time favourites books. I'm sure that they will change in the future, but for now these are my favourites.

1) 'Vampire Academy' by Richelle Mead I love this book so much. I think I have read it about 3 times. And the whole series contains 6 books.  Well, as you can tell from the title it is about vampires. I'm not like obsessed with them , or something.  It's just that I feel like that kind of books are just lighter to read for me. So this book is amazing. It is so great, they had to do a movie, which sucks. It really does. I watched it once, and probably won't watch it again, because I didn't enjoy watching at all.So I don't recommend the movie, but the book of course!!!

2) 'The Help' by Katherine Stockett

I read this boo…

CYPRUS TRIP #THROWBACKTHURSDAY

Image
Good noon (if it even exsists), so I know it's not Thursday, but I wanted to do a little throwback. So like with the Brussels photos, I found also photos from my trip to Cyprus. I think I was there the same year as Brussels.
I actually really enjoy trips to Cyprus. It wasn't my first trip there. The only thing about Cyprus is that, I didn't get the chance to see the Turkish side of it, only the Greek side. But besides that Cyprus is really beautiful island. The myth is that  Cyprus is a birthplace of Aphrodite, the greek goddess.
Hope you'll enjoy the photos below, Speak to you soon, Mary

THE SUMMER TAG 2014

Image
Aloha there,

since it is summer, as you probably now, or not, whatever, I thought I would do 'The Summer Tag'.
So basically there are 9 or 10 questions and I need to answer them. So let's get started!

1) What's your favourite thing about Summer?
As I am in still in school, you probably all know what I am going to say. I love that I don't have to wake up really early. I don't have to worry about any tests. But besides not being at school, my favourite thing about summer is that the days are much longer, and you can make most of it.

2) Do you have a favourite Summer drink? (I mean non-alcoholic)
When it's really hot I tend to drink a lot of water. But I like drinking something refreshing like water with mint and lemon or some sort of milk shakes. They all always remind me of summer, just in case, you know, I forgot or somthing :)

3) Is there a location you like to go to each Summer?
I have been traveling to Italy each summer for 2 years now. So if that count th…

X | ED SHEERAN

Image
Hello,

I have been in love with the newest album by Ed Sheeran. So I was supposed to add a blog post about photography first, but it can wait.

It is so beautiful. I feel like everytime I listen to it, I love it even more. I don't know how is that possible.

I know that Ed has realised two albums. But I must say I love the second much better. Every song is different, in a good way of course.
And the best part about his albums is that they actually sound like they were really taken straight from his heart.

I really can't stop listening to it. The songs that I love to listen to the most are:
1. Afire Love
2. Nina
3. The Man
4. Bloodstream
5. Don't
(all that songs are below to listen)

I really recommend this album and also check out his live covers for example 'Be My Husband'. I feel like he really loves what he is doing, and hopefully it will stay that way :)

Speak to you soon,
Mary x

P.S. Are here any fans of Ed Sheeran?

BRUSSELS TRIP #THROWBACKTHURSDAY

Image
Good afternoon,

so recently I was looking at some old photos on my computer and I thought, that maybe I should put them on my blog, as they aren't that bad in my opinion.
Below you will see photos taken about 2 years ago (of course by me, or maybe not all of them as my uncle is an author of a few of them) in Belgium. I went there, because mostly I wanted to sightsee a little bit.

Let's start of with a few photos of flying to an airport in Belgium.

I think the first day, I want to a Museum of Natural History, which is my favourite museum in the world.  I was also in this museum in London and New York.

A quick little photo of Parlamentarium

During the weekend I visited Brugge, a city about 100 km from Brussels. Nice city near the sea, so also I went on the beach, but it was a little bit too windy!
